So this repair secret is a little debatable. Everyone seems to have their own opinion on what the best way to do this is. Professional mechanics recommend getting your oil changed every 3,000 to 5,000 miles depending on your driving habits. Is that just because they want to make a little more cash by getting you and your vehicle into the shop more frequently. Not really. Racing professionals sometimes change their oil after a certain amount of passes, sometimes twice in one day. Oil is important to all your seals and internal components. Heat, use and molecular breakdown reduce its effectiveness. If you take the time to keep your oil changed, your car will thank you for it.


#2 Fuel additives

It definitely doesn’t hurt to give your fuel system a cleaning every once in a while. Boosting the octane with Techron or another fuel additive can help clean up your system. Are you buying the cheapest gas possible? It will show in performance. Using a fuel additive sparingly can help get you get a cleaner system, quicker.


#3 Go synthetic

Synthetic motor oils can sometimes be more expensive than regular oil. Many people have a preference on synthetic vs. regular as well as a preference on brand. Don’t skimp on the oil. Don’t buy the cheapest bottle that you can. Get the type that your mechanic recommends for your driving patterns. You’ll be glad you did.
